The Turkmenistan national tennis team among juniors under 14 years old performed brilliantly at the Central and Western Asian Championships in Muscat (Oman), winning 2 gold and 4 silver medals. The team took second place in the overall standings and received a ticket to the Asian Championship, reported the FTT press service.
The main heroes of the tournament were the current champion of Turkmenistan, Ilima Huseynova, who won two golds in singles, and Aylara Kakabeeva. Together the girls won 4 silver medals in doubles.
The Central and Western Asian Championships was held from January 5 to 18 in Oman and brought together the strongest juniors in the region. The victory of the Turkmen tennis players is especially valuable, given the status of the tournament.
The team was led by the chairman of the panel of judges of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, Igor Zubkov.
