President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, TDH reports.
During the meeting, Schinas conveyed warm words of greetings from the EU leaders to the head of Turkmenistan, emphasizing that the European Union is interested in expanding the long-term productive dialogue with Turkmenistan, a strategic partner in the Central Asian region. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked for the kind words and expressed confidence that the visit will serve as a good opportunity for fruitful negotiations, discussing opportunities and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the positive dynamics of the partnership with the EU. In particular, projects such as “Sustainable Energy Connections in Central Asia (SECCA)”, “Dialogue and Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia (DARYA)”, Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCHA-IO), Program on Drug Prevention in Central Asia (CADAP).
At the same time, it was emphasized that currently leading European companies are represented in many sectors of the Turkmen economy - in the oil and gas complex, electric power industry, construction, communications and communications.
In addition, the head of state emphasized the importance of the upcoming investment forum on EU-Central Asia transport and assured that Turkmenistan would take an active part in it.
