At the CES 2024 consumer electronics exhibition, Samsung presented the world's first transparent MicroLED screen, reports iphones.ru.
The company showed three displays, two of which had tinted glass and one was completely transparent. Tinted glass covered all the objects in the background, so they did not interfere with looking at the picture.
The screens are approximately 1 centimeter thick and have a frameless design. The images on the displays are clear and rich.
Samsung noted that transparent MicroLED displays are much brighter compared to transparent OLED screens. They are also less affected by ambient light.
The timing of the appearance of transparent MicroLED displays in serial devices and their price have not yet been announced. Today, Samsung's only TV with an opaque MicroLED screen costs 149 999 USD.
