A resident of the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan, Sarygul Matiyeva, celebrated her 116th birthday, writes the “Turkmenistan” newspaper. Her birthday is officially listed as “January 1” in her passport, so she celebrates it along with the New Year.
On this day, numerous relatives gather to congratulate the centenarian. This year, her children, 43 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren came to celebrate.
Despite her venerable age, Sarygul Matiyeva remains cheerful and optimistic, her speech and smile radiate kindness and wisdom.
Sarygul Matiyeva lives in the village of Bagtyly, Akdepe etrap, Dashoguz velayat. She calls the secret of her longevity a peaceful and calm life next to her beloved relatives.
