“Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke named Commander of the Order of the British Empire

Emilia Clarke, known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the series “Game of Thrones”, received the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her charitable work, reports TASS.

Clarke and her mother founded SameYou, a charity that helps people who have suffered brain damage.

The list of laureates of state awards includes the names of more than 1,2 thousand people.

Among them there are also famous cultural and sports figures. So, the founder of the Glastonbury music festival Michael Avis, the widow of the writer Roald Dahl Felicity Dahl, the goalkeeper of the England women's football team Mary Earps, the director Ridley Scott and the spiritual head of the Church of England, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, received knighthoods.

This year's oldest recipient was 97 years old Jill Gladwell, who was awarded an MBE for her support of the Royal British Legion's work helping veterans.
