Within the framework of a nationwide greening campaign in Turkmenistan, 472 thousand 71 seedlings of coniferous, fruit and deciduous trees were planted in one day, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Participants in the action also took care of 1 million 868 thousand 935 trees throughout Turkmenistan, which demonstrated the high level of environmental culture in Turkmen society, the state news agency comments.
The seedlings for planting were selected taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of the area in order to contribute to the creation of forest zones in Turkmenistan.
Greening campaigns in Turkmenistan are held annually. They help improve the environmental situation, as well as foster respect for nature and draw attention to environmental issues.
