The order of international events for the second half of 2023 is being developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports today.
According to him, it is proposed to prepare "Priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly." The document will outline the initiatives and approaches of Turkmenistan to the most important issues on the global agenda related to ensuring peace, security and sustainable development, ecology and environmental protection, climate change, healthcare and the humanitarian sphere.
It is also proposed to develop a draft "Medium-term strategy of the main directions of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan." Its preparation will be carried out taking into account the situation that has developed in various regions, including those adjacent to the
Central Asian region, the geopolitical situation, as well as on the basis of the Concept of the foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan for 2022-2028.
After listening to the information, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that, being committed to the policy of peacefulness, positive neutrality and broad constructive cooperation, Turkmenistan would continue to develop fruitful multifaceted ties with the states of the planet and authoritative international organizations.
In an effort to make optimal use of its creative potential, our country puts forward specific initiatives designed to help solve the urgent problems of our time, ensure global peace, security and prosperity. Speaking of this, the head of state stressed the need for the most serious and responsible preparation for participation in the regular, 78th session of the UN General Assembly, careful study of the priority positions of Turkmenistan, which will be announced at it.
