Rashid Meredov announced Turkmenistan's readiness to expand relations with India

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of Central Asian countries with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was held on June 6.

During the meeting, it was noted that the key factor in bilateral relations is an open and constructive dialogue established at the highest state level, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

Having conveyed to Narendra Modi words of greetings and respect from the leadership of Turkmenistan, R. Meredov noted that in economic terms, Turkmenistan and India have enormous potential for expanding trade volumes, increasing investments and implementing joint projects in such sectors as transport, energy, industry, high technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Particular attention was focused on the importance of implementing the “Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India” (TAPI) gas pipeline construction project and the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor.
