On the first day of the Week of Culture, which is taking place these days in Ashgabat, a conference of museum specialists on the topic “The role of digital technologies in improving museum activities” was held in the hall of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. Methodological courses were also organized to study the world experience in improving the restoration work of museum valuables.
According to the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, one of the most noticeable trends in the development of museum business is the introduction of digital technologies. The participants of the conference discussed the issues of improving the work of museums by actively using the capabilities of digital systems. The issues of widespread introduction of modern technologies directly into the work of museums and depositories, the creation of an electronic database for recording museum values, and digital study of the historical landscape of ancient cities were discussed.
The conference program permitted museum staff from different cities of the country to learn more about the introduction of digital technologies in the museum space, to share their experience, as well as new ideas.
