The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan held a conference “World Glory of Magtymguly”

The medical institute of the city of Bukhara hosted a scientific-practical conference on the theme “World Glory of Magtymguly”, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan.

The event was held on June 8-10 and was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classic poet of the East.

From the Turkmen side, the event was attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Y. Mamedov, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Ch Rustemova, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as scientists and historians from the Magtymguly Institute of Languages, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and representatives of the TV channel “Ashgabat” of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

From the Uzbek side, the event was attended by the hyakim of the Bukhara region B. Zaripov, the head of the Turkmen cultural center G. Avezdurdiyeva, the head of the department of the Republican Turkmen cultural center in the Bukhara region O. Rakhmatov, professors, teachers, as well as representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in the territory of the Bukhara region.

The conference was also attended by Turkmen students studying at universities in Bukhara.

In his speech, Ambassador Y. Mammadov said that preparations are currently underway at the international level for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, a poet whose work left a deep mark on Turkmen literature and received world recognition. The Embassy of Turkmenistan organized a number of events in Uzbekistan. Thus, on March 15, the scientific-practical conference “Magtymguly Fragi - the bridge of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship” was held in the House of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship in the Urgench etrap of the Khorezm region. And today's international forum in the ancient city of Bukhara, which is one of the places where Magtymguly Fragi studied, complements such solemn events.

Hyakim of Bukhara region B. Zaripov noted that interstate cooperation, based on mutual friendship and good neighborly relations, had reached a qualitatively new level as a result of the tireless efforts of the leaders of the two countries. He emphasized that this scientific and practical conference confirmed that the creative heritage of Magtymguly Fragi is an invaluable asset not only of the Turkic-speaking peoples, but of all mankind.

In subsequent speeches, the results of scientific research and the work of Magtymguly Fragi were discussed in detail. It was noted that Magtymguly Fragi's poems have been translated into the languages of many peoples of the world, including the Uzbek language.

The forum participants visited the “Old City” memorial complex in Bukhara, where the young Magtymguly was educated in the Gogeldash madrasah, reports the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan.
