Ashgabat will host an international forum in the fields of transport and logistics, diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan turned 31, the head of FIFA will visit Turkmenistan for the first time and other news



1. Today, the second conference and exhibition “International transport and transit corridors: interconnection and development” starts working in Ashgabat. On this occasion, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the forum participants with greetings. The head of state noted that the forum would make it possible to achieve the planned plans for the implementation of large-scale projects important for the country and the region to create a multivariate international transport, transit and logistics infrastructure, as well as significantly increase the level of trade and economic partnership between Asian and European countries.

2. The Embassy of Türkiye in Ashgabat hosted an event dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye. Within the framework of the event, a photo exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the diplomatic service of Türkiye and timed to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the opening of the embassy in Turkmenistan was opened.

3. Executive Secretary of the International Center for Transport Diplomacy Igor Runov gave a lecture at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the lesson, the speaker paid special attention to the results achieved in the development of the transport and logistics system of Turkmenistan at the international and regional levels. In addition, Runov discussed with the students the role and opportunities of the countries of Central Asia for the international transport corridor “North-South”. After completing the lecture, Igor Runov got acquainted with the training centers in the priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan at the institute.

4. On May 31, Turkmenistan will host a festival called “Advertising is the key to success” among young entrepreneurs and youth enterprises. The objectives of the festival are to involve young professionals in the social, economic and cultural life of the country, as well as to select the best initiatives and unique solutions.

5. The stand of Turkmenistan was presented within the framework of the exhibition of cultures at the festival held in Almaty on Abay Square on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. Turkmen carpet products, national costumes, handmade national embroidery, jewelry, musical instruments, colorful photographs about Turkmenistan and much more were presented in the pavilion of Turkmenistan. Akim of the city of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev, having visited the Turkmen pavilion, highly appreciated it.

6. FIFA President Gianni Infantino will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on May 4. This will be the first visit of Gianni Infantino as head of the International Football Federation to Ashgabat. During the one-day visit, the head of FIFA will discuss with the leadership of the country and the national federation the development of football in Turkmenistan and prospects for further cooperation.


7. Russian fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin died at the age of 59. “A brilliant fashion designer, a recognized master of world fashion. His outfits were worn by the stars of show business, theater and cinema, and the shows always attracted great attention”, the Channel One said in a message. In 2016, Valentin Yudashkin was diagnosed with kidney cancer.

8. American rock band Aerosmith will stage a farewell tour this September. According to guitarist Joe Perry, this tour is a kind of celebration of the band's 50th anniversary. The Peace Out tour will begin on September 2 in Philadelphia and end next January in Montreal, Canada.


9. Hursand Imankuliyev from Turkmenistan defeated Belarusian Dmitry Deshkevich and reached the 1/16 finals of the world boxing championship in light welterweight. Imankuliyev won by decision of the judges. In the next stage, the Turkmen boxer will meet with the representative of the Congo. Let us remind that the tournament is held in Tashkent. More than 640 athletes from 104 countries take part in the competition, including seven reigning world champions.

10. Chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Aynazarov was elected to the post of vice-president of the Central Asian Football Association. Elections of the new executive committee of the organization and vice-presidents were held at the 8th CAFA congress in Dushanbe. President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali was re-elected as CAFA President for a new four-year term.
