The issues of expanding the Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation were discussed by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Ashgabat today on a one-day visit.
According to the press service of Rais RT, the parties, in particular, discussed the development of cooperation in such areas as oil exploration, gas transportation, energy and the supply of chemical products.
According to Minnikhanov, cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia continues to expand, which is the direct merit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In this regard, the interlocutors noted the importance of developing cultural ties, as well as education and tourism.
It was noted that Turkmenistan ranks first in the number of foreign students in Tatarstan, today there are 6218 of them.
Rustam Minnikhanov invited Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to take part in the International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum", which will be held in Kazan on May 18-20, 2023.
After the meeting, they visited together a commercial and industrial exhibition of goods and products manufactured in Turkmenistan. The exhibition was organized at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
Earlier today, the head of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation discussed with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov the prospects for cooperation in the gas chemical complex and the field of information technology.
