Rais Rustam Minnikhanov invited the delegation of Turkmenistan to visit Tatarstan and take part in the forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The report notes that today, within the framework of a one-day working visit to Ashgabat, Rustam Minnikhanov met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

“Cooperation with the Islamic world has always been one of the leading directions of foreign economic and international activity of Tatarstan. The main platform for economic interaction is the “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum” forum, Rustam Minnikhanov noted and invited the delegation of Turkmenistan to attend this event.

It should be noted that today a number of large companies of Tatarstan in the field of mechanical engineering and oil refining, such as “KAMAZ” and PJSC “Tatneft”, are represented in Turkmenistan.

“Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum” is the main platform for economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world. For the first time the forum was held in 2009, creating a leading international platform for discussing issues of cooperation and implementation of joint projects. The purpose of the Forum is to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, the international economic forum “Russia - Islamic world: KazanForum” acquired federal status. The event in Kazan is of great importance not only for the regions of Russia, but also for foreign countries.

Every year, guests and participants celebrate a rich business program, productive meetings, highly appreciate the level and growing scale of the international economic forum. This year the event will be held on May 18-20.
