January 2, 2023 is declared a day off in Turkmenistan. The corresponding Decree “in order to create favorable conditions for the celebration of the New Year and a good holiday, as well as in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan” was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, reported the news program “Vatan” of Turkmen television.
The document prescribes “to ensure the implementation of this decree by all institutions, enterprises and organizations of the country, regardless of their form of ownership”.
