A new building of the Russian Drama Theater to be built in Ashgabat. This was stated by the Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, giving a speech today at the 532nd meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the press-service of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation reports.
“Through culture, art, science and education we will manage to enrich the content of our partnership”, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
He noted the high respective attitude towards the Russian language, literature, cultural and spiritual values of the Russian people in Turkmenistan.
“The Russian language is taught in all secondary and higher educational institutions of the country. Today we are already working on the design and construction of the Russian Drama Theater in Ashgabat in the future”, the head of the Halk Maslahaty of the National Parliament added.
We remind that the Russian Drama Theater in Ashgabat was founded in autumn in 1926. In 1937, it received the name of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
During his speech at the Federation Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited his Russian colleagues to consider the possibility of close inter-parliamentary cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, the content of which, according to him, can be outlined in a medium-term comprehensive program.
Former President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is visiting Russia for the first time with a three-day official visit in the rank of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh. On the eve of the leaders of the upper chambers of the parliaments of Turkmenistan and Russia signed an agreement on the establishment of an Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation.
The Turkmen politician also has a “round table” in Moscow with the participation of Russian senators and a number of negotiations.
