Turkmenistan will make changes to the administrative-territorial structure, an international oil and gas forum will be held in Ashgabat, pink flamingos flew to the Caspian to spend the winter

1. Turkmenistan will make changes to the administrative-territorial structure. This was announced at a meeting of the parliament chaired by the head of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Saturday. Summarizing the proposals made, the head of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced plans to abolish: 6 etraps (Gubadag etrap, Gurbansoltan eje etrap, Farap etrap, Dovletli etrap, Serhetabat etrap and Oguzhan etrap); 5 cities with etrap rights (Tejen city, Gumdag city, Hazar city, Serdar city, Kunyaurgench city); 1 etrap in the city (Kenar etrap in the city of Turkmenbashi); 2 settlements (Bagabat settlement in Ak Bugday etrap, Garageol settlement in Hazar city); 36 gengeshliks (village councils).

2. In Turkmenistan, the administrative reform carried out will save the budget. Budgetary funds in the amount of about 28 million manats will be saved as a result of changes in the administrative-territorial structure of the regions of Turkmenistan. This was stated by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldy Serdarov on Saturday during a meeting of the Parliament. According to the minister, the release of cultural, financial and educational institutions, which will arise as a result of the implementation of the administrative-territorial reform in the country, will also have a positive impact on the country's budget.

3. The historical names of cities, etraps, rural places will be restored in Turkmenistan. Gulshat Mammedova, chairman of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh, stated this at a parliamentary meeting on Saturday. It was reported at the meeting that, according to the proposals received from the localities in the Balkan velayat, it is planned to rename the Serdar etrap and the city of Serdar, giving them a historical name - Kyzylarvat. Proposals have been prepared to change the names of 2 etraps (districts), 3 cities, 4 settlements, 3 gengeshliks (village councils), as well as 21 villages.

4. Pink flamingos arrived in Turkmenistan to spend the winter. The birds listed in the Red Book were seen in the Hazar State Nature Reserve, located on the southeastern coast of the Caspian Sea. Birds will gather on the way back in March-April next year.

5. The first snow fell on the tops of the highest mountains of Turkmenistan - Koytendag. The snow cover was formed at an altitude of 2400-2500 meters and above. At the same time, in the foothill areas of Koytendag, precipitation was very small. The highest point of Koytendag is Mount Airy-Baba with a height of 3139 meters, which is also considered the highest point in Turkmenistan.

6. Ashgabat will host the forum “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2022” on October 26-28. This review annually attracts the attention of leading oil and gas companies and organizations, as well as hydrocarbon consumers around the world. Turkmenistan is the owner of vast reserves of gas fields, in particular, one of the largest gas fields on the planet, “Galkynysh”, is located on the territory of the country.

7. Consul General of Turkmenistan in Russia Guych Garayev visited Kazan Federal University. 3727 students from Turkmenistan study at KFU - the largest number of foreign students in this university. The Consul General of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the rector of the educational institution Lenar Safin. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the progress and prospects of cooperation with Kazan Federal University on the issues of training highly qualified personnel.

8. Xi Jinping has been re-elected as Party Secretary General of China. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) on Sunday, October 23, re-elected Xi Jinping to the post of general secretary for a third term. Xi Jinping has also been approved as chairman of China's highest state military body, the PRC Central Military Commission. The deputies of the forum voted for his candidacy unanimously. Xi Jinping, 69, has been the head of state of China and the Central Military Commission since 2013.

9. The British Prime Minister has announced her resignation. British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation, she headed the British Cabinet on September 6. 13. The General Secretaries of the Olympic Committees of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed the resumption of the Central Asian Games. The parties agreed to jointly develop a sports program, as well as to resume the Games in the next two years. The country and dates will be determined later. The Central Asian Games are held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.
