The ball that Diego Maradona handballed against England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup will be sold at auction for £ 2,5-3 million, reports Euronews.

The ball is owned by former Tunisian referee Ali bin Nasser. He served the same match in which he did not notice the handball from the Argentinean. Maradona later said that he scored the goal with the “hand of God”.

The ball auction will take place on November 16, 4 days before the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. On the same day, the “Peace Match” will be held in memory of the legendary Argentinean, who passed away two years ago at the age of 60.
