In January – July of 2022, more than 2.4 million tourists visited Uzbekistan, increasing the indications of the last year by 2.2 times (in the same period of the last year there were 1.1 million). It was reported by the official website of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the statistics, for the first seven months of 2022 more than 1.1 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan entered Uzbekistan for touristic purposes.
Almost third part of all foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan were citizens of Kazakhstan – 716.7 thousand people. Moreover, the three leaders of the tourist flow included Kyrgyzstan – 675.1 thousand and Tajikistan — 637 thousand tourists.
Tourism in Uzbekistan is traditionally associated with the UNESCO World Heritage Cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
