The Russian IT company “Yandex” will change its main page after a deal with the social network “Vkontakte”, reports RBC.
“The search engine will become the core of the new ya.ru page. From this page it will be possible to get to “Mail” and other services of “Yandex”. There will be no news section - this service, together with “Yandex.Zen”, is being sold by the company to VK,” says the message.
It was also noted that “Yandex” will abandon the news aggregator and will develop ya.ru as its new main page.
VK also announced the acquisition of “Zen” and “News”. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2022. After that, “Vkontakte” will receive the rights to technologies and trademarks of the two services.
As a result, after the deal is closed, the purchased services will be available on the dzen.ru portal.
