1. The state enterprise Türkmendemirönümleri of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan has signed a contract with JSC Metallurgical Plant Balakovo of “Novostal-M” Metallurgical Holding (RF). The Russian company under the contract will send 81 420 tons of rebar to Turkmenistan.
3. A solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the interuniversity competition “Teacher of the Year” was held in Ashgabat. The winner of the Grand Prix of the competition was Bayram Jumayev, a senior lecturer at the Department of “Automation of Technical Systems” of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
4. Museum values of Turkmenistan will be presented in the Louvre. In particular, the Ministry of Culture is considering the possibility of exhibiting artifacts found during the excavations of the settlements of Ulug-Depe, where the Turkmen-French archaeological group has been working for more than 20 years.
5. Shahrukh Khan is returning to films after a long break. The Indian movie star will play the main role of a new film, “Javan”, which is filming in Mumbai. The film directed by Atlee is scheduled for release in June 2023.
6. A million Muslims began the pilgrimage to Mecca. This is the largest hajj since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Saudi authorities this year permitted only those pilgrims under the age of 65 who took at least two doses of the coronavirus vaccine to perform the hajj, and also made it obligatory to wear masks inside the Grand Mosque.
7. A solemn ceremony of the start of the rally-raid “Silk Way” was held in Astrakhan. More than 60 crews participate in the race, including Turkmen, Belarusian and Kazakh riders. Particular attention among motorsport fans and specialists is riveted to the classification of trucks, where the star team “KAMAZ-master” set off for another victory. The route of the “Silk Way Rally 2022” will pass entirely through the territory of Russia. Racers have to overcome the path of 4500 kilometers. The winners of the race will cross the finish podium in Moscow on July 16.
8. The national team of Turkmenistan will participate in the world championship among cadets (U17) in wrestling in Rome (Italy) from 25 to 31 July 2022. Turkmenistan in freestyle wrestling will be represented by: Azimberdi Ashirkuliyev (weight category up to 45 kg), Ismail Muhammedov (up to 55 kg), Alp Arslan Begenjov (up to 65 kg) and Parahat Atayev (up to 80 kg).
9. The head coach of “Traktor” Kurban Berdyev held the team's first training session. The players, under the guidance of the Turkmen coach, began preparations for the new season of the Iranian football championship. Iran Pro League 2022/2023 kicks off on August 11.
