The match of the 3rd round of the group stage of the AFC-2021 Cup with the participation of Uzbek “Sogdiana” and Turkmen “Altyn Asyr” ended in Dushanbe. The match ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the vice-champion of Uzbekistan.
Because of the defeat, “Altyn Asyr” lost chances to get out of the group of the AFC Cup.
“Sogdiana” gained 9 points and took the first place in the tournament table of “E” group.
Uzbek team under the leadership of Ulugbek Bakayev reached the zonal final of the AFC Cup-2021.
“Sogdiana” and Tajik “Hudjand” will play in the final of the Central Zone of the AFC Cup, the match which will и held on August 16 or 17, 2022.
AFC Cup is the second in order of importance club tournament in Asia. The new owner of this trophy will become known at the end of 2022.
