China's CNPC wins another tender in Turkmenistan

The Chinese company China Petroleum Engineering Construction won the tender for the design and construction of surface facilities at six gas fields on a “turnkey” basis in the western section of the Bagtyyarlyk contract area. This was reported on the website of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.

The project will put into operation the fields - Gadyn, North Gadyn, Iljik, East Iljik, Kishtuvan and West Kishtuvan, built 22 wells, 4 gas gathering stations, pipelines, engineering and technical support networks, including electricity and water supply, and other facilities of production infrastructure. The total capacity of the project is 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Bagtyyarlyk is a Turkmen oil and gas project under the terms of a production sharing agreement (PSA), signed in 2007 between the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan and CNPC for over 30 years. The project covers a site on the right bank of the Amyderya in Lebap velayat, which includes the Samandepe and Altyn Asyr fields. The explored reserves of the project amount to 1.3 trillion cubic meters of gas, more than 20 million tons of oil and 20 million tons of gas condensate.

Currently, China Petroleum Engineering Construction is constructing onshore facilities at the West Joramergen, Gokmiyar and Dashrabat fields located in the east of the “Bagtyyarlyk” contract area.

Earlier we reported that the Chinese company will drill new wells in the “Galkynysh” gas field in exchange for Turkmen gas.
