As a sign of friendship and good neighborliness, Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to the Astrakhan region today, including goods produced in the country, the State News Agency reported.
Earlier, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, "guided by the principles of mutual respect and mutual assistance," signed an order on the transfer of food and various goods produced in the country to Russia free of charge.
This is the second batch of humanitarian aid. Recall that the first one was delivered in May last year. Then Turkmenistan sent food and industrial products to the Astrakhan region, as well as textiles and building materials in the amount of 1 million US dollars.
"Following the centuries-old traditions of mutual assistance, our country is always ready to lend a helping hand to other states and peoples," the article of the State Information Agency underlines.
Earlier, according to the Orders of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in order to provide friendly support in connection with the difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has become a serious test for all mankind, humanitarian supplies were sent to neighboring Afghanistan and Iran.
On the eve, "Turkmenportal" reported that Russia had sent medical products to Turkmenistan as humanitarian aid.
