After 7 months of interruption, the passenger rail service in Turkmenistan will resume, but only partially.
In accordance with the website of the Turkmen Railway Agency, railway passenger services will resume from March to Ashgabat: Turkmenistan - Ashgabat, Turkmenistan - Ashgabat.
Flights on these routes will be operated twice a week: Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the report, trains will be resumed in test mode, provided that sanitary and hygienic requirements are met.
And the suspension of trains on other routes is extended until April 1.
Recall that the movement of trains, intercity buses was suspended on July 16, 2020 in order to prevent infectious diseases. The country also has limited cultural and leisure activities, sports and catering facilities. Mosques and places of pilgrimage were temporarily closed.
