The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has opened a competitive registration of applications for private Turkmen companies to implement and obtain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, the website of the UIET reported.
The competition may be interesting for those enterprises who intend to export their products or cooperate with foreign companies on the international market.
The call for proposals is being held within the framework of the program for the implementation and certification of management systems in accordance with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Management.
As a result of a competitive selection based on completed questionnaires, four enterprises will be selected, for which 50% of the costs of implementing and certifying standards will be covered by USAID's Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Development (FGI) and Safe Migration in Central Asia (SMICA) projects.
Applications for participation in the project must be submitted by 18:00 on February 19.
Manufacturers who work in the light industry are welcome, including footwear, leather goods, household chemicals, hygiene products, as well as carpet weaving, food and textile industries. Companies from other industries can also submit their applications.
Obtaining standards is for clients a proof that the products manufactured by the company meet all the criteria of quality, environmental friendliness and safety. Availability of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 documents makes it much easier for companies in Turkmenistan to conclude transactions in the international market.
