22-year-old Turkmen student Almaz Seyidov discovered vulnerabilities in the Instagram security system. He informed Instagram specialists about this. For his vigilance, Almaz Seyidov received a letter of thanks from the company and a cash reward of 10,000 US dollars.

"While browsing the Instagram feed, I saw a weakness in the system. I started looking for security errors in public accounts. To prove the vulnerability of the platform's security system, I went to the page of the famous football player Miralem Pjanic. I saved his personal photos to my device, which I liked. By doing this, I wanted to prove that anyone can get access to photos if they want, " Almaz Seyidov tells how he discovered this vulnerability.

"During the pandemic, famous people in Turkey often started to go live from their pages. I participated in live broadcasts of such famous people as Zeynep Bastyk and Shafak Sezer, and wrote a couple of funny comments on their behalf. My goal was to show people that something was wrong with their accounts. It was for this purpose that I continued my research in this area for four months. But I have never done anything illegal on my Instagram account, and I want everyone to know about it,” Almaz Seyidov commented.

"For us, users, it is very important that this problem is solved as soon as possible, personal Instagram pages of users can be used for a variety of purposes if they fall into the hands of unscrupulous people," he concluded.

Diamond Seyidov is currently studying at the University of Sakarya (Turkey).

Earlier, 6 months ago, Almaz revealed an Iphone system error, for which he received a reward of 3.5 thousand dollars from Apple.
