This evening, a long-haul Boeing-777-200LR plane of “Turkmen airlines” landed at the Turkmenabat international airport, bringing Turkmen citizens from Turkey to Turkmenistan who were forced to stay in this country after air traffic was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the airport's information service, the special flight from Istanbul was organized on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization (WHO), all citizens who arrived on a Charter flight from Turkey will undergo a mandatory two-week quarantine.
Earlier, Turkmenistan has already organized Charter flights to the international airport of Turkmenabat (Turkmenistan) from Russia, Belarus and India to return its citizens who were unable to return earlier due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
