President of Turkmenistan, Supreme commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, General of the army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Minister of defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin in the reception room of the Museum of the national memory memorial complex, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The guest arrived with an honorary mission – to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 and to pass on this significant day the Battle banner of the 748th rifle regiment of the 206th rifle division of the 2nd Ukrainian front, in which the grandfather of the head of the Turkmen state Berdimuhamed Annayev fought.
The personal file of the famous soldier Berdimuhamed Annayev, who passed the entire war and returned home with a Victory, was also brought.
Alexander Fomin, having conveyed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulations on the occasion of the anniversary of the great Victory from Russian President Vladimir Putin, noted the heroism and courage of the soldiers of the 748th rifle regiment of the 206th rifle division, who only during the period of 1943-1944 received 250 commendations on behalf of the top military leadership and were awarded 2500 orders and medals.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed great gratitude on behalf of the Turkmen people and on his own behalf to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and addressed festive greetings in return.
As it was noted, the transfer of the Battle banner, as well as the high state award of Russia – the medal "for bravery", which Is now stored in the Museum of the Ministry of defense, is perceived in our country as a sign of deep respect for the Turkmen soldiers who fought alongside representatives of other Nations against the enemy and made a worthy contribution to the overall Victory, as well as a manifestation of the invariably friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.
Way of life respected Berdimuhamed Annayev – the true patriot and brave warrior, bravely fought in the great Patriotic war, and then, in time of peace devoted himself to multifaceted educational activities is an example of selfless service to the Motherland and the people.
Noting that such a high assessment of the feat of Turkmen citizens will inspire the younger generation, which continues the glorious traditions of heroic ancestors, to even greater success, the head of state invited Alexander Fomin to take part as a guest of honor in the military parade dedicated to the current anniversary celebrations.
Expressing confidence in the further strengthening of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed sincere wishes of health, happiness and well-being to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the entire fraternal Russian people.
