Turkmenistan and Georgia held a video conference dialogue

A wide range of issues of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation was discussed today during the meeting of representatives of Turkmenistan and Georgia, held in the format of a videoconference. It was held at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the participation of heads and representatives of the Ministry of Finance and economy, the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations, a number of agencies and transport and logistics centers of our country.

On the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of economy and sustainable development, Deputy Minister of Finance, heads of agencies and companies.

The online meeting was also attended by the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Mamuk Murjikneli.

As you know, the favorable geographical location of the two States and the common economic interests create favorable conditions for effective integration of efforts to create multi-modal transit and transport corridors using the potential of the Caspian and black sea regions.

An example of this is the project of the “Lazurit” transport corridor on the route Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey. The implementation of such projects will provide broad prospects for interregional integration and will serve to intensify trade and economic cooperation throughout the Eurasian space.

In this context, during the current videoconference, special emphasis was placed on cooperation in the transport and transit sphere. Special attention was paid to the international transport corridor Caspian Sea – Black sea. In this regard, the importance of establishing mutually beneficial contacts in the field of logistics was noted, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
