Current issues on the bilateral agenda, including measures taken by the Republic of Belarus and Turkmenistan to prevent the spread of coronavirus, as well as to protect the interests of citizens abroad, were discussed today in Ashgabat by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hadjiev and Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus Vyacheslav Beskosty.
The sides noted the friendly nature of relations between the countries and the high level of cooperation in overcoming the negative consequences of the epidemiological situation in the world, the Embassy of Belarus in Turkmenistan reported.
On March 11, 2020, the world health organization declared the outbreak of a new COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic.
In Belarus, according to the Ministry of health of the Republic, a total of 94 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded. As of today, 32 patients have been discharged or are preparing to be discharged, while the rest are still under the supervision of doctors. At the same time, no deaths from the COVID-19 virus have been recorded.
In Turkmenistan, according to the Ministry of health and medical industry, no cases of coronavirus have been recorded.
