Turkmenistan and the UN signed a framework program for cooperation in the field of sustainable development

Today, the “Yildiz” hotel hosted the signing ceremony of the framework program for cooperation in the field of sustainable development between the government of Turkmenistan and The United Nations for 2021-2025, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The event was attended by heads and employees of the Mejlis, ministries of foreign Affairs; economy and Finance; health and medical industry; labor and social protection of the population; agriculture and environmental protection; representatives of law enforcement agencies, the Institute of state, law and democracy, as well as embassies and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, the public and the media, including foreign ones.

The framework program is aimed at enhancing interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN in various areas, including maintaining economic stability and growth, protecting the social rights of the population, improving the health system and preserving the environmental balance.

During the meeting, the importance of this document was emphasized in the context of building a multi-faceted dialogue with the UN that meets the interests of well-being and sustainable development in the regional and global dimensions.

It was also noted that the adoption of the framework program demonstrates the effective nature of partnership with this largest international organization and its leading structures, and reflects the mutual desire to develop a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Turkmenistan.

At the end, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Permanent Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova addressed the media.
