President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has arrived on an official visit to Baku, where talks will be held today with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
The high-ranking guest was met by officials at the Heydar Aliyev International airport, which was decorated with the National flags of the two countries.
From the airport, the motorcade of the head of Turkmenistan proceeded to the residence of the President of Azerbaijan "Zagulba", where high-level talks will be held.
Regular personal contacts between the two heads of state play a crucial role in activating the Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership. During the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in August 2017, a Declaration on strategic partnership between the two countries was signed, as well as a number of other documents that create opportunities for building mutually beneficial contacts in various fields.
A solid package of documents is also expected to be signed during the current summit, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
