Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbehani. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov stressed that Turkmenistan is concerned about tensions in the Middle East and, as a permanently neutral state guided by the principles of the UN Charter, is against the use of force to resolve any issues.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador acquainted the Turkmen side with Iran’s position regarding the recent events in the Middle East region, particularly noting the importance of using diplomatic means to resolve any issues in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and generally recognized norms of international law.
Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for providing comprehensive support to the official delegation of Iran, which was returning to its homeland after a visit to one of the neighboring countries in the region through the territory of Turkmenistan, the source notes.
