Today, Minister of industry and construction of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Kazan Kremlin, the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his recent appointment as Minister of industry and construction production of Turkmenistan.
"We are grateful to you for your interest in our Republic," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He also asked to convey words of respect and respect to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his personal attention to the development of Tatarstan-Turkmenistan cooperation aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Turkmenistan.

The President of Tatarstan also invited Turkmen representatives to take part in the international summit "KazanSummit", which will once again be held in the capital of Tatarstan in June this year.
"Today, Tatarstan and Turkmenistan have an Agreement on cooperation, there is a Program of our cooperation," Rustam Minnikhanov further recalled. - Regular flights between Kazan and Ashgabat also contribute to the development of our contacts, and I am grateful for their organization. There is a representative office of Tatarstan in Ashgabat. In addition, there is a decision to open the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan."
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, currently there are strong business contacts with enterprises of Tatarstan-PJSC "KAMAZ", "Tatneft" and others.
A joint Tatarstan-Turkmen working group has been established, and active work is underway in many areas.
Rustam Minnikhanov:
"In the first 9 months of last year, our trade turnover increased. But there are opportunities for its significant growth. Great potential is laid in such areas as oil exploration, oil production, gas transportation, automobile, aviation and shipbuilding, energy, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, medicine, construction, agriculture, innovation and information technology."
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, cooperation with Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant is also a promising direction.
During the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was introduced to the economic and innovative potential of the region. Today, Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed, stable and innovative regions of the Russian Federation.it occupies a leading position in the country in terms of a number of socio – economic indicators, produces a wide range of industrial products, and is actively working to develop special economic zones, industrial parks, and modern industrial sites.
Within the framework of today's meeting, the topics of cooperation in the field of construction, training of highly qualified specialists for the construction industry on the basis of Tatarstan universities were discussed.
