On the results of the work carried out on the draft law of Turkmenistan on cybersecurity. Reported at a meeting of the Government, the Secretary of the Council of state security, the Minister of national security Y. Berdiev, head of the Working group on the draft Law of Turkmenistan on cybersecurity, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
According to the information, communication systems of all forms of ownership are subject to cyber protection, in which national information resources are processed and used in the interests of public authorities and local self-government, law enforcement agencies and military formations, in the areas of electronic management, electronic public services, e-Commerce, electronic document management, as well as objects of the relevant information infrastructure.
According to the source, the main purpose of the legal action is to protect the nation "cyber-sovereignty". The document defines the order and specifics of information infrastructure security in strategically important sectors. The law complies with the Constitution of the country and meets the requirements of international treaties to which Turkmenistan is a party.
In this regard, the President stressed the timeliness and relevance of the adoption of the law on cybersecurity to protect the sovereignty, interests of the country, prevent threats to network security, as well as to ensure public order, the legitimate rights, and interests of organizations and citizens.
By endorsing the draft act, the President signed it, directing the Secretary of the Security Council, the head of DHS the number of instructions stated in the information.
