In 2026, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmenabat Chemical Plant intensified testing to create new types of complex fertilizers. Joint research and development work is underway with the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to develop products that not only nourish plants but also prevent soil salinization and improve soil structure, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The plant is one of the country's first chemical industry enterprises, and it plays a key role in strengthening Turkmenistan's position in international markets as a major producer of mineral fertilizers.
The plant's main products include ammonium superphosphate. It also produces industrial sulfuric acid, a raw material component for phosphate fertilizers.
Within the framework of the state program for the production of import-substituting products in the country, the enterprise fully meets domestic fertilizer needs, making a significant contribution to strengthening food abundance.
Currently, the plant's operations extend beyond the production of agricultural chemicals. It manufactures over 30 types of products, including a coagulant for water purification, which is particularly important for municipal services, as well as various types of polymer products.
In October 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for a mineral fertilizer production complex took place at the plant, with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan.
