CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev met with Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Russia, Esen Aidogdyev, in connection with his transfer to a new position. The meeting took place at the CIS Executive Committee in Moscow, the Executive Committee's press service reported.
During the talks, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation, preparations for the CIS Foreign Ministers' Council meeting, and Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Commonwealth.
Lebedev wished Aidogdyev success in his new position.
Earlier, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed Aidogdyev from his post as ambassador to Russia and appointed him head of the country's diplomatic mission to the United States.
