In eastern Turkmenistan, the first wheat shoots are being tended to

In the Lebap region, 130 thousand hectares of land have been sown with grain crops this season. Timely completion of the sowing season has ensured good wheat germination in all districts of the region, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

This season, high-yielding wheat varieties that have been tested and highly rated were sown: "Alekseich," "Bezostaya-100," "Batko," and "Kalym," as well as varieties developed by scientists—"Berkarar," "Bagtyýarlyk," and "Sähraýy." Seedling care is currently underway in the fields.

The use of powerful John Deere and CLAAS equipment, owned by the “Lebapobahyzmat” association, as well as modern trailed mechanisms for fertilizing crops with mineral and organic fertilizers, contributes to the productivity of the work.

Currently, the application of additional mineral fertilizers and irrigation are nearing completion. A total of 26 thousand tons of urea is planned for the entire 130 thousand hectare area. This means that each hectare receives an average of over 200 kilograms of fertilizer.

This year, the wheat harvest is expected to reach 310,000 tons, the source notes.
