Women's Dialogue: A meeting was held between parliamentarians from Turkmenistan and Pakistan

On March 5, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in a video meeting with female parliamentarians from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This was reported on the Mejlis's website.

The Turkmen side discussed the priorities of Turkmenistan's peaceful domestic and foreign policy, as well as the composition and activities of the national parliament.

The expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in new areas with international organizations, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Inter-Parliamentary Union was also noted.

Pakistani female parliamentarians expressed satisfaction with the high level of women's representation in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the role of young women in public administration, which is a major achievement in ensuring gender equality in the country and modernizing the work of state institutions.

During the meeting, the importance of events and meetings held to ensure gender equality and protect women's rights was noted. It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the successful implementation of National Action Plans on human rights, gender equality, and children's rights, as well as active cooperation with the UN and its agencies in this area.

The parties agreed to establish regular contacts between women parliamentarians to enhance the effectiveness of interparliamentary relations. It was emphasized that this initiative will enrich the friendly relations between the two countries and promote cooperation.
