Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in 2025 amounted to 43,1 million USD, an increase of 17,1% compared to 2024. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan following a meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, which took place in Dushanbe on March 3-4.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atahalliyev. Representatives from ministries and agencies of both countries also participated.
The meeting discussed the status and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, as well as interaction in the areas of transport and communications, energy and water resources, industry and construction, agriculture, education, healthcare, civil aviation, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation and youth policy.
Following the meeting, confidence was expressed in the further expansion of bilateral cooperation.
