A Sergey Karjakin chess club is planned to open in Turkmenistan

Vepa Malikgulyev, head of the Turkmenistan Chess Federation, held talks with Sergey Karjakin, president of the Moscow Region Chess Federation and Russian Senator. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work on opening a Karjakin chess club in Ashgabat.

During the talks, which were also attended by Albert Minnullin, Executive Director of the FSM, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in chess. Particular attention was paid to the launch of a new club, which will serve as a platform for training young talents, hosting master classes, and international competitions.

Karjakin's clubs are already successfully operating in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as in dozens of other countries, including Hungary, India, Thailand, and Chile. The opening of a representative office in Ashgabat will be part of the further expansion of the international network, according to the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan.
