A batch of medications for the treatment of cancer and blood diseases has been delivered to Turkmenistan

UNDP in Turkmenistan continues to provide regular supplies of medicines, supporting the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan in the fight against non-communicable diseases, with full funding from Turkmenistan.

Under the Agreement on the Provision of Medicines for the Prevention and Treatment of Non-Communicable Diseases, UNDP delivered another shipment of medications for the treatment of oncological and hematological diseases.

According to a UNDP press release, the new shipment to the Ministry included the following medications:

  • Paclitaxel;

  • Immunoglobulin;

  • Human coagulation factor VII;

  • L-asparaginase;

  • Methotrexate;

  • Trastuzumab;

  • Rituximab;

  • Chlorambucil;

  • Hydroxycarbamide.

This delivery is part of a large-scale project in which UNDP annually provides the country's healthcare system with approximately 60 types of medicines, helping to improve access to treatment for patients with oncological and hematological diseases.

Since 2021, UNDP has been implementing projects to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases, fully financed by Turkmenistan.
