The CIS Heads of Government Council will be held on May 22 in Turkmenistan

The CIS Heads of Government Council is scheduled to meet on May 22 in Turkmenistan. The agenda includes 11 issues, according to Igor Petrishenko, First Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth.

A meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS is taking place at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on Tuesday.

"Today, we will approve the agenda for the Council of Heads of Government, which is scheduled to be held in the chairing state – Turkmenistan. The tentative date is May 22 of this year. Currently, there are 11 issues, primarily related to the economic aspect, convention and exhibition activities, transport corridors, and the designation of the Hero City of Minsk as the CIS Youth Capital for 2027," RIA Novosti quotes Petrishenko as saying.

In 2026, Turkmenistan assumed the chairmanship of the CIS. At the meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council in October 2025 in Dushanbe, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan takes this mission very seriously. To this end, a corresponding concept has been developed, covering priority areas of interstate partnership.
