“Al-Nassr” footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he has no plans to leave Saudi Arabia.
"I belong to Saudi Arabia. I want to stay here. This is the country that has welcomed me, my family, and my friends. I'm happy here," sports journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted the Portuguese as saying on social media.
The day before, “Al-Nassr” crushed “Al-Hazm” 4-0 in a match of the 23rd round of the Saudi Arabian Premier League. Ronaldo scored twice (in the 13th and 79th minutes), while Kingsley Coman (in the 30th) and Angelo Gabriel (in the 77th) also scored. The match took place in Riyadh.
This is Ronaldo's second consecutive scoring match since the boycott ended. In early February, the Portuguese refused to take the field due to dissatisfaction with the club's management and the level of investment by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund in “Al-Nassr” compared to rival clubs.
Following the round, “Al-Nassr” (55 points) climbed to first place in the league table. “Al-Hilal” drew 1-1 with “Al-Ittihad” in the parallel match and now trails Ronaldo's team by one point.
