The regional stage of the "Woman of the Year" competition, announced by the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, was held in the city of Turkmenabat at the "Bagt Koshgi" celebration center.

According to Turkmenistan: Golden Age, approximately 60 winners of the preliminary stages, held in cities and districts of the Lebap velayat, took part in the competition.

The competition's significance was underscored by the inclusion of such important criteria as women's contribution to national development and the preservation of national heritage in applied and jewelry arts.

Particular attention was paid to the role of women serving in the military and law enforcement agencies in patriotic education of youth, as well as women's participation in the socio-cultural development of villages and the improvement of agriculture, as well as their success in entrepreneurship. Promoting traditional mentoring was also an important aspect.

The winners in the respective categories were:

Gulalek Sahatova, a teacher at Secondary School No. 12 in Sayat etrap;

Gulshat Sadykova, director of the Children's and Youth Creativity Center in Hojambaz etrap;

Dance director at the Dovletli etrap Culture Center, Jennet Akmyradova;

Gulalek Gubakova, a teacher at Kindergarten No. 10 in Halach etrap; Maral Jumageldyeva, a servicewoman from Turkmenabat;

Narjemal Haitova, a tenant from Farab etrap;

Annagozel Jumageldyeva, an entrepreneur from the Halach etrap;

Tenant of the dayhan association named after Osman Sokhbetov of the Kerki etrap Annagul Pendzhieva.

The competition winners received valuable gifts and certificates of honor from the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan. They also qualified for the final round, which will be held in Ashgabat on the eve of International Women's Day.
