Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China on the occasion of the Spring Festival (Chunjie), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

"This bright holiday, symbolizing the beginning of a new year, fills hearts with hope for peace, harmony, and prosperity, and since ancient times has served to bring people together," the Turkmen leader's message reads.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that relations between Turkmenistan and China are characterized as a strategic and long-term partnership and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The President of Turkmenistan wished Xi Jinping good health, happiness, and success, and the people of China peace, prosperity, and well-being in the coming Year of the Snake.

Spring and Autumn is the main holiday for the Chinese people, the New Year according to the lunar calendar. This year, it began on the night of February 17th. According to the Chinese calendar, it marks the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse, which will end on February 5th, 2027.
