China successfully tested the Long March-10A reusable super-heavy rocket

On February 11, 2026, China conducted a test launch of the Long March-10A super-heavy-lift launch vehicle from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on Hainan Island. The rocket's first stage successfully completed a controlled splashdown at sea, opening the possibility of its reuse without critical damage, according to India Today.

The Long March-10A was developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology. The rocket is 67 meters tall and 5 meters in diameter, equipped with five oxygen-enriched propellant engines.

The tests also tested the emergency escape system of the Mengzhou manned spacecraft, designed to deliver taikonauts to China's Tiangong orbital station.

Plans for 2026 include orbital launches of the Long March-10A carrying the Mengzhou spacecraft. In the long term, China hopes to launch a manned mission to the Moon with a landing on the moon's surface by 2030.
