The Egyptian national team defeated the Ivory Coast team in the quarterfinal match of the African Cup of Nations, which is currently underway in Morocco. The match ended 3-2.

Omar Marmouche (4th minute), Rami Rabia (32), and Mohamed Salah (52), who also provided an assist, scored for the winning team. Egyptian defender Ahmed Fattokh scored an own goal in the 40th minute. Guela Doué (73) scored for Côte d'Ivoire.

In the other quarterfinal match, Nigeria defeated Algeria 2-0 in Marrakech.

Goals were scored by Victor Osimhen (47th minute) and Akor Adams (57th).

In the semifinals, Egypt will face Senegal, while Nigeria will face Morocco. Both matches will take place on January 14.

The Africa Cup of Nations kicked off on December 21 and will conclude on January 18. Côte d'Ivoire is the reigning champion.
