The US Embassy in Turkmenistan has announced a competition for participation in the Fulbright Program

The U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan has announced an open competition for the 2026-2027 Fulbright Teaching Excellence Program.

This program provides teachers with the opportunity to develop their professional skills and expand their knowledge of the United States.

Participants will travel to the United States for a six-week program beginning in January or September 2027.

Applicants must submit a complete application and be:

Current teachers in secondary schools or language centers with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, social studies, journalism, communications, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), special education and other institutions serving primarily local populations.

Middle and high school teachers (students aged 12 to 18). When working with younger students, the latter should occupy less than 50% of the teaching time.

Practicing teachers who plan to continue their teaching careers for five years after completing the program.

Have Turkmen citizenship and reside in Turkmenistan at the time of application and participation in the program.

Applications will be accepted until 23:59 on February 15, 2026, and sent to AshgabatEducation@state.gov.
