Football club “Ahal” has parted ways with several key players, including team captain Elman Tagaev. This was reported by international sports journalist Alexander Troitsky.

Following head coach Velsakhet Ovezov's departure the day before, several key players have left the team. Among them are captain and team leader Elman Tagayev, who has played for “Ahal” since 2019; vice-captains Gurban Annayev (with the club since 2015) and Alibek Abdurakhmanov (since 2023); and Bakhtiyar Gurgenov, Khakmukhammet Byashimov, and Akmamet Metdayev (all since 2023).

Eziz Annamuhammedov, who previously coached the club's reserve team, has been appointed the new head coach of “Ahal”. Under Ovezov's leadership, the team of the Main Directorate of “Turkmennebitonumleri” twice won silver in the Turkmenistan Championship and reached the final of the Turkmen Cup in the last two seasons. In the current 2024/25 AFC Champions League, the team overcame the playoff round, defeating “Regar-TadAZ” of Tajikistan, and advanced to the group stage of the tournament.
